The headlines on both coasts this past weekend reported stories of shark attacks on swimmers and even a boat. Seems like the coasts are not the only place people are being 'gobbled up' by the beast. Users who installed the QuickBooks 2014 (or QuickBooks Enterprise-14) R6 and then the R7 update to fix problems in R6 are now reporting a message indicating they need to update: "QuickBooks needs to update your company file", even though they have updated their file.
Apparently for some users, the installation of R7 on top of their already installed R6 is creating a problem with the data file not recognizing that the upgrade has taken place, and so QuickBooks keeps going through a loop telling them to 'update', when they 'update' (again) it isn't recognized, and the loop just continues 'over and over' (like being 'bit' multiple times by the shark.)
At present Intuit's response is, "send the file" in to Data Services; of course, if you are a full service plan or plus member your costs for those services should be covered by your plan, but if you are not, get ready for a data service charge.
As I said, there is very limited information on this, and I personally have not seen any cases of this yet, but we will keep our 'ear to the rail' to find out as much as we can, as soon as we can, in order to keep you advised.
